The Foundation was recently created by community members to enhance Pearl River’s education program. It is comprised of parents, school district representatives and community members who are dedicated to enriching public education in the Pearl River School district by providing enhancements beyond those available to our children through traditional sources of funding. We are in the process of applying for 501(C)(3) status.
Back in June the Pearl River Education Foundation approved almost $11,500.00 in grants to staff across the district. Congratulations to the following recipients…..
Karen DiMenna at Lincoln Avenue and Vivian Pratt at Franklin Avenue each received 26 smart response remote controls. They will be used with the smart boards.
Melissa Alm received funding for to take the 4th grade students at Evans Park on four social studies trips that will supplement the social studies classroom learning.
Stephanie Pollack at the Pearl River Middle School received 6 Samsung chrome books to share with her 7th grade team.
Steve Lonergran at Pearl River High School received a radial arm saw for the technology students.
Steve Mosher at Pearl River High School received a 3-D Printer kit for use within the technology department.
John DeMarco will receive funding for a Pearl River Beautification Project. This is a student initiated project that will build a greater sense of community within the high school.
We also held a Foundation Logo Contest and are happy to announce that Dan Paradine was the winner with our new logo.
Please support our fundraising efforts during the school year so we can continue to provide enhancements to our schools that our school budget cannot. The Pearl River Education Foundation is a 501(c) 3 non-profit education organization.
